Message from Paul Taft Captain 2026

Welcome everyone to the 2026 Abbey Panels Golf Society season.

I would like to start by thanking Eddie Carroll last years Society Captain for the fantastic job he did, raising £1050  for Prostate Cancer UK….. This year I  have chosen The Myton Hospice to be the recipients of our Charity fund raising and our Charity day will again be held at Oakridge Golf Club on Friday June 26th. It will be the usual format of teams for the three or Four players with the best 3 total score to count. So please arrange your teams as soon as possible to ensure a good turn out. Hopefully we can raise a sizeable donation to this worth while cause.

Many thanks to Dave for all his hard work in organising the events for this year the first being a visit to Stratford Oaks on March 20th, is a brand new venue for the society this year at Aston Wood nr Sutton Coldfield an in May we return to Cosby G.C…. My Captains Day will be at Beedles Lake on July 17th, 9 holes on the par 3 in the morning .Lunch followed by 18 holes and an evening meal and presentation to round off the Day. As in the last few years we will continue with the bunker and pond fines ,which gives a boost to the Charity total and as I am the current holder of that trophy I would be more than happy for someone else to give it a good home.

This is my second term as Society Captain and I consider it a privilege to represent this society along with my Vice Captain Martin Olner who wil take over the reins for 2027 All that remains for me to say is that I Look forward to playing with you all during the coming season.
